I uploaded the Tagroo plugin to the plugins directoy of my site, activated it in Wordpress, and then went to the settings page to set my API key.  I entered the API key I was sent and then clicked Update Tagaroo Options, and it gave me this:

Error: Could not contact OpenCalais.

Any idea why this is happening?

What version of Wordpress are you using? Some of the older plugins do not work on the newer versions of wordpress.

did the error message asks that you check your server settings? this happened to me and after much back and forth I found out that my hosting company required me to request an outbound connection, specifying the port and the ip address of the external site. i requested this info from the calais team and this solved the problem.

Now I could the plug in running, i get the box in the posts, just no tags sugestion, but i think that;s another problem

It never said anything about that, although that may be the problem. The error message didn't say anything about server settings though. It just said "Error: Could not contact OpenCalais."

Geekblake:

Is this still happening? Perhaps this was an intermittent network problem - but if not let's start debugging.

- What version of wordpress are you running
- What other extensions do you have installed?

Let's start there.
