Do resolutions affect relevance scores?

In a case where entity A is resolved to entity B, does the resolution affect the relevance score for B?  For example, if I've got a City entity "Washington, DC" which is resolved to containedbycountry "United States," is the relevance score for United States increased because of the mention of a city it contains?

The resolution could indeed affect the relevance score, but not in the scenario you've described. In a case where entity A and entity B get resolved into the same one, it will get a higher relevance score.
