Tagaroo updates the page every few seconds when I'm writing a post in the latest version.  Each time it does it, the cursor pops up to the top of the text box.  It makes it rather difficult.

I've written about this in a previous version of Wordpress and Tagaroo.  Does ANYBODY have an idea what to do about this?  Maybe an "Update tagaroo" button?

Calais Tagaroo › Tagaroo refreshes page too often
Tagaroo is the fine Wordpress plugin from OpenCalais that suggests tags and imanges for my posts. It’s a great tool!
There’s just one problem… Tagaroo updates the page every few sec...

First, I have quite a few Wordpress sites, all with Tagaroo installed. Each and every of these websites suffer from the refresh issue, which is very distracting, as well as problematic.

So, the workaround: Upon entering the Admin Panel, I immediately disable Tagaroo in the plugin section (turn off auto-fetch) , if I'm going to begin writing and/or refining a post. When I'm ready, I turn Tagaroo back on.

Then, all is well...

Second, I also have a slew of Joomla Websites that, to date, can't enjoy the benefit of this plugin. Please, please try to get one developed!

So, the current workaround: I write my content in Joomla, copy and paste it into a new Wordpress post from one of my sites, then let Calais do it's magic, via Tagaroo.

Just copy the accepted tag results (not from the Suggested Tags Box Area, but where the images are. The Tags are all there, in black, commas and all. Then, back to Joomla (I have used several different tag plugins) Of course, and then paste it. Voila!

This has raised my SERPs ranking in Yahoo and Bing, substantially. I doesn't seem to help in Google so much. But thanks be, I already conquered the Google SERP, and needed the other two anyway.

So, unfortunately, I'm sure you lose benefits of the plugin, the images are great too. But, you do what you can do!

Hope this helps!

running wpmu 2.8.4, recently we've started noticing this happening more & more - and we're getting unsolicited reports from our bloggers.

It *does* undermine the whole experience.

If there's a fix due, when's that going to be?

If not, then please let us know, and we'll (reluctantly) swap out tagaroo for some other way of managing our bloggers' taxonomies.

Willrowan -

Our apologies for the frustrating experience. We are in the process of correcting these problems with Tagaroo and expect to release it within a few days.

Bear with us - life will improve very soon.

This is absolutely killing me.  Every time I pause to think, tagaroo refreshes and then I have to wait 2 or 3 seconds to start typing again.  Its killing my flow.  Otherwise, this is the coolest thing ever.  :)

Basically I am now writing in word and cutting and pasting into wordpress ... which is not really cool.

Please either make it so that it doesn't affect the rest of the page, so that I can control the update frequency or control it manually.

Thanks!

While most users are ok with the update/refresh, we have heard this from a couple of users. I like your idea of an update button. We will try to push this in our next version.
