Perhaps if could describe your use-case scenario, then this would shed some light on the situation and the obstacles that you are facing.

It would be most helpful if you break-down what you are trying to do into small steps, like:

1.  I want to fetch the contents of this page : http://www.opencalais.com/blog

2.  Then I want to send a portion of the text - say, a single blog entry - to opencalais, using my api-key .

3.  Then I want to be able to identify the name of the author of this text.

4.  Finally I would like to retrieve the details of the blog-entry author.

I'm afraid it is unclear from your post what is it exactly that you're trying to do.

Whose user-details are you trying to fetch ?

Calais Users ?  Bloggers ?

Please elaborate.
