Hi!
I tried opencalais submission tool on very simple text file, but all of them failed and in the output folder just text.txt.failed is created.
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
I've been trying to run simple text documents through the tool for the past hour with no success. I'm submitting a simple 3 KB txt file, and this is the output I get:
System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (417) Expectation failed.
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
at ClassLibraryBL.Runner.TagItSynchronously(Object content, SourceType sourceType)
at ClassLibraryBL.Runner.Run(ReportProgress reportProgress)
Do you have any idea what that error means, and how I could solve the problem?
When you open the .failed files in notepad, it should show an error stack. The first time I ran, I got this:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Open Calais\Open Calais Submission Tool\Templates\CparamsXml.xml' is denied.
If I just right-click the .exe file and run as administrator, it works properly, which just means that the user context for the program is at odds with my computer's security settings (I'm running Windows 7 Home with McAfee).
I just installed the Submission tool on my machine and copied/pasted a news story into a text file as input. Tool seems to be working fine. I specified the input and output folders on the submission window, plugged in my API key and clicked on "Run".
Take a look at the Submission Tool documentation again to ensure that you've installed it correctly and that your procedures are right. If you still encounter problems, drop us a line with additional info about your configuration.

I'm having the same problem. Which .exe file do I click on? How do I "run as administrator"?
