Hello,
I have reposted this after no response for 2 days where another post was answered within hours - this leads me to think that my first attempt was not understandable. I have searched the docs to no avail.
Does anyone know the directive to explicitly indicate submitted text is English?
Scenario: I submitted a text contains the word "Spanish" and received a response indicating that the language is not supported (I figure due to short text input). I omitted the word "Spanish" and it worked fine. This also happens in the viewer...
The exact text producing the symptom is (excuse the tabloid context)...
"Foxy Roxy soaks up rays
FORMER Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett looks trim in bikini on Spanish holiday"
The response from the viewer OC Viewer:
"<Error Method="ProcessText" calaisRequestID="ac3e595d-b211-ce0c-12af-6e9b48770225" CreationDate="2010-09-09 09:32:45" CalaisVersion="R4.3_7.1.1103.5"><Exception>Calais continues to expand its list of supported languages, but does not yet support your submitted content.</Exception></Error>"
*** Therefore, it would be great if I could explicitly indicate the submitted language is "English". If this is not yet possible, then can someone say, so I don't waste more time.
Thanks in advance,
kg

Hi kg,
Unfortunately there is no way to specify the language when submitting requests to Open Calais. We will add this as an enhancement request.
Interesting find about the removal of word 'Spanish', thanks for letting us know. This definitely is a bug.

Hi Sumit,
Thank you for responding...
My latest workaround pre-appends the text "Prefix to circumvent OpenCalais bug, this is English text." to every submission. This allowed the word "Spanish" to be included in the text without issue ;-)
Thanks again.
