Calais does a great job of identifying those tags, my question is how do I take advantage of this information?
it seems that this great summarized information is "stuck" within the left panel... I guess what I would like to do is extract those entities and use it for other purposes. Currently there is no way to copy/paste this information from the left panel, nor is there a way to select specific entities and have only those entities appear in body by themselves (so i can copy/paste) into other programs etc...
Or maybe I am not aware of this ability....Is there a way to accomplish this? Are there other programs that leverage Calais that i am able to extract the entities of my choosing?
thanks for on to take advantage of the entities seperated by calais

Hi,
I assume you refer to the viewer.opencalais.com (or Gnosis). The viewer is a demo tool that helps you understand the power and capabilities of Open Calais web service.
This service is designed for machines. The output is RDF (or JSON or other simpler formats) file with all the entities/events/facts/categories extracted from the text. This RDF output file can be used for any purpose.
In the viewer you can press on ShowRDF button to watch the RDF file.
You can use http://semanticproxy.com/demo.html as well.

yes I have been using the open calias web portal and that is my point...
i enter text in the box (from a news article) and in the left panels it shows all the tags and corresponding text....THEN WHAT???
I cant even copy those entries, I cant show specifc entries in the body....how do i seperate what was tagged so i can use it for other purposes...how do i manually extarct that data from open calais??? I want to extract that data, thats where the value is for me...whats the point of looking at this tagged data if I cant get it out?
How do I do that?
