I know that this is primarily a service for news articles, but it would be fantastic if in addition to basic medical terminology you guys also included information from NCBI's MeSH database in your semantic parsing (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh).

Since NCBI doesn't offer a web service for MeSH it would be very useful for people looking to automatically parse medical information.

That said, this is a great service and keep up the good work!

Has there been any progress on this feature?

David,
We are looking into adding links from Calais entities into MeSH. The two natural candidates are MedicalCondition and MedicalTreatment. This means that when Calais identifies terms that belong to these types and creates Linked Data endpoints for them, the endpoints will link to the relevant resource in MeSH.
Check us later this year, there's a good chance you'll see it there.
Regards,
Michal
