Rob Blackwell has been playing with Calais and evaluating it for some upcoming project work. I thought it would be fun to build a Common Lisp wrapper to facilitate some exploratory programming.

Phase2 has created the Topic Hubs module to harness the power of Calais tagging by allowing administrators to create Topic Hubs based on site’s most popular tags. Topic hubs are highly configurable and contain a series of pluggable content modules, like “Most Read” content for this topic, “Most Commented” stories, most active contributors, and links to other related topics. To top it off, integration with Calais Geo allows for plotting all of your content for a Topic Hub content on a map.

The Calais Modules for Drupal were created by Phase2 to integrate the powers of the Calais Web Service with Drupal. These integrate semantic meta-tagging of content through the Calais engine.

More Like This shows related content instantly, either from within your site's archive or from outside providers.  More Like This works by first specifying your "Thumbprint" for a particular piece of content. The thumbprint is specific  keywords that  identify a content item. You can either enter terms by hand, or have them prefilled for you with suggestions returned by the Calais Web Service.

Phase2 developed a series of modules to integrate the Calais Marmoset site crawler into Drupal. It adds a tab to the Drupal node that displays the microformat data returned my Marmoset.

This module requires that you download the Marmoset Package from http://opencalais.com/documentation/calais-marmoset. You will also have to edit some of the files according to the instructions found at http://drupal.org/node/361166.
