Butterflyzer is a unique desktop application for researching, cataloging, analyzing, and visualizing social media and related events. Unlike other social media analysis tools, Butterflyzer doesn't give you the answers.. we don't even tell you what questions to ask! Instead, Butterflyzer is like an in-house geek, research assistant, and librarian for the web. It can help you find and quickly integrate information you need from various sources -- including Twitter, Topsy, Google Insights, PlaceMaker and other web sources -- and enriches that information with semantics provided by OpenCalais, allowing you to quickly focus on specific issues and events.

Think outside of the Browser.™ If we step back in time a bit, browsers really haven't come that far since Mosaic. That's because they're stuck thinking about better ways to present single web pages. The larger goal of Butterflyzer is to turn social media browsing into a holistic, shared experience.

See the web as it was meant to be seen.™ Hey, it's a web, right? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to visualize the deep connections between web pages, tweets, content authors and entities in a natural fluid way? That's precisely what Butterflyzer's innovative visualization and interaction tools allow you to do.
Butterflyzer is currently available for all desktop environments as a free Alpha. Please visit us to download the Alpha, and follow us on Twitter @Butterflyzer.
